Versatility & Veteran Trophies

 - The Bliss Glazebrook Versatile Golden Retriever Trophy

Renamed in memory of Bliss Glazebrook in 2008.
Originally in memory of Golden Yoke Awendaw Amber CD TDX WCX

1. To be eligible to win this trophy the Golden must be member-owned and have attained one of the following titles: WCX, Senior Hunting Dog or **.

2. ln addition, the dog must also have the following titles to meet the minimum requirements for the trophy: an obedience and tracking title with one being a UD or TDX; or a UD or TDX with at least five points in Breed; or a CH in Breed and CD or TD.

The trophy may be won only once by the same dog unless the dog has earned a title in a fourth category, or an advanced title in a category already held. An increase in points towards championships in field, obedience or breed does not count. Only AKC and GRCA titles accepted. More than one dog can qualify for the trophy per year. Additional achievements by previous winners will be added to the original award plate; however, possession of the trophy will be awarded only once for each dog and owner. Actual possession of the trophy will be rotated among those qualifying each year, with equal time dependent on the number of eligible dogs. The order of preference for awarding the trophy will be as follows:

1. The dog with the highest field rating that was amateur trained and handled in field, tracking, and obedience.

2. The dog with the highest field rating that was professionally trained and handled in one or more of the categories: field, tracking, obedience and breed.

3. All equal, the owner whose dog has met the above requirements earliest in the year will take first possession of the trophy. Field ratings are, from top to bottom: FC, AFC, ***, **, Master Hunter, Senior Hunter, WCX. The Tracking, Obedience and Breed titles have equal ratings.

 - The YGRC Golden Oldie Performance Trophy

Donated by Pat Lindquist in 2012 and offered in the spirit of having fun with our old dogs, this trophy recognizes the special bond between a Yankee member and his/her veteran Goden. It honors the ability of older Goldens to learn new skills and encourages the continued active participation of senior dogs in canine performance events.

This trophy is awarded annually to the oldest veteran Golden Retriever over age 8 years that earns a new AKC or GRCA title.

For the purposes of this trophy the performance categories are defined as follows: Field, Obedience, Rally, Agility, Tracking, Scent Work, Barn Hunt, Dock Diving, Lure Coursing.

The title earned shall be in either in a new category or at an equal or more advanced level in the same category as any previously earned titles. Duplicates of titles previously earned or sequential attainment of the same title (for example MACH2, UDX3, etc.) are not eligible. The dog's age in years, months, and days on the date the title is earned will determine the winner. In the event of a tie, the winner is the dog earning the higher level title according to the GRCA VC/VCX schedule of title points.
